ANZ aims to be the digital bank with a human touch. We employ more than 8000 people in New Zealand and have a strong commitment to building a diverse workforce which reflects our diverse customer base. ANZ has market leading policies and frameworks which support diversity and flexible working including our ‘all roles flex’ policy. We have won prestigious awards for our efforts to promote diversity, including the YWCA Equal Pay Award, and UN Women’s White Camellia Supreme Award.
ANZ is actively focused on building a gender balanced workforce and supporting women to develop successful careers in Technology. We have taken a holistic approach to not only recruiting and developing more women in our Technology function but also supporting the wider industry through partnerships with tertiary education institutions (Weltec, AUT and Wellington ICT graduate school). We are working closely with these institutions on their curriculum, while also offering internships and mentoring opportunities.
We are also working to encourage more young women to pursue STEM subjects. Our staff frequently talk to school students and organise bring your kids to work days to foster interest in a technology career at ANZ.
In this spirit, we’re delighted to support MBIE’s Return To Work scheme for women looking to return to technology careers after a career break. Offering training and job opportunities to women mid-career makes sense and complements our efforts to develop entry-level opportunities for women in our technology teams.
